The Charm of High Altitude
Where the vines
face the fire
The unique atmosphere of Northern Etna is imbued with a volcanic heritage that lends strength and complexity to our wines. On the slopes of the majestic volcano, we passionately cultivate native grape varieties such as Nerello Mascalese, giving birth to Etna Bianco, Etna Rosso, Etna Rosé, Pinot Noir and our sparkling wine Femina Metodo Classico.
Soil
North Etna vineyards are rooted in mineral-rich volcanic soil dominated by ash and lapilli, giving our wines a distinctive and complex note.
Altitude
The vineyards extend at high altitudes, between 600 and 1,200 meters above sea level, taking advantage of the unique climatic conditions of the high altitude.
Exposure to the Sun
Due to the southeastern exposure of the vines, the clusters receive plenty of sunlight, ensuring optimal ripeness and intense aromas.
Climatic Influences
Etna’s cool breezes mitigate summer temperatures, creating an ideal microclimate for growing Nerello Mascalese and Carricante.
